greggus.408 chey tac
I've got a .408 chey tac rifle, and am interested if anyone out there has any loads for this calibre.
i'll mainly be using 400gr projectiles, with the lathe turned long spizer with boat tail (bc.9) projectiles for long targets, but plan to use (the much cheaper) woodleigh 400gr round nose for shorter "range" work.
the barrel is 28" and has a 1-13" rh twist
suggestions greatly appreciated.
thanks

uafgradSince the woodleighs that you describe as much cheaper are not cheap, how much do you pay for the others?

greggusHey Guys, in order of questions,
uafgrad:
If i can talk TTi around into getting their permission, as barnes supply their factory made projectiels, they are willing to do a run of 1000 for $1.00USD per projectile.
Gerard:
they look nice, do the bands add much to the velocity, or is ther a risk of added barel wear?
i've heard much about banded rounds, and dont know enough yet to make an educated decision.
Are you displaying a product of yours?
If so, more details would be appreciated, sich as weight and price. thanks
CaneCorso:
unfortunately my rifle is not in my posession yet, but apparently it's 90% complete.

Yeah, those are very nice, indeed. How long are they making you wait?

greggusit was originally ordered in aug last year, then a ferw dramas came up, and they won the canadian contract, and more delays.
paid in full, straight up. maybe i should have only paid a deposit, and rest on completion. no incentive for them to get the rest of the money....
what have you got?
