sksshootergot some ?'s
hello all im new to the board and new to reloading. ive actually not started loading yet i just purchased a reloading setup and have pretty much everything and am ready to start but im still reading and watching videos for now. i have a couple items i still need to pick up one being a case trimmer. ive looked at a few different styles i have the lee cutter but haven't seen the case lenth stud for it for .270wsm. i plan to use this if i can find one. i don't plane to load huge quanities so it should be more than adequate. also for .223 im planning on getting the possum hollow with drill adapter and i wouldn't mind one for the 270 wsm either but i haven't seen one of thos either. does anyone know if either is offered for the 270wsm? thanks for any info or advice and sorry for the long winded post

homebrewerI welded my trimmer body to a 5/8-inch wrench, which I cut off to make it easier to handle. The wrench just fits the collar on the base that holds the shell. Makes it easy to loosen and tighten it really fast. No wear and tear on your fingers. I can trim and chamfer a case without ever putting down the trimmer...
This is my trimmer set-up. Made it from an old pencil sharpener. I can lock in, trim, chamfer inside and outside and remove the case in 24 seconds. Not pretty but it works. I've done
thousands with it...
The thing in action...
Last one...
Something else that 3/8-inch drill chuck can do is open up big enough to hold a .223 case in it, mouth inwards. I then use my primer pocket scraper, crank the handle a few spins and get all that hardened crap out lickety-split. Chuck a 82-degree countersink tool into it and I can chamfer the primer pocket on mil-surp brass in a wink or two. Chuck a flash hole uniformer into it, and I can do that operation just as fast as chamfering the outside of the primer pocket. Total cost of my contraption was about three bucks...

ramrod340That's where my 5/8" wrench went.

Just goes to show that good tools don't have to be complicated or expensive.
