What are some of your favorite loads with 180 gr. bullets?
Thanks,

Oddball
IMR-4350 From 60.5 grains to 76.0 grains
IMR-4831 From 59.4 grains to 75.5 grains
RL-22 From 63.5 grains to 77.0 grains
H-4831 From 61.9 grains to 78.0 grains

You'd better start low with these!

3 Feathers, H1000 is great powder for the 180gr.'s...sakofan.

Oddball is right. RL22 is probably a good place to start.

RL-22 is my magic powder for the .300 Win mag. Good luck and good shooting.

That's what you get for being a good source of information...!

"The best compliment is imitiation" or something like it...I am sure I botched it.

81.5 grs. H-1000 works for me. 1/2 inch groups doing 3165 fps out of 24 inch tube. Using Nosler Accubonb bullets 180 gr.
76grs. H-4831SC with 180 gr. Nosler Accubond or B/T group 1/4-1/2 INCH. WITH AVG. Speed of 3080 fps.

USING Win. brass, Fed. 215 match primers.
Good luck...

Imitation is flattering, but taking information from somewhere without citing the source is plagiarism. I trust that you were not presenting that info as your own, but it's always good to cite sources.

Another vote for RL-22, I was telling a buddy yesterday that it must have been created just for the 300WinMag.

75gr with an antique 180gr Partition
74gr with a FailSafe

72gr with a 200gr Accubond.
71gr with a 190gr Sierra MK
73gr with a 168gr Sierra MK

Some are closer to max than others, better consult the manuals before you start.

I am using a 180gr Partition and also a 180gr Ballistic Tip. With either bullet the same powder charge gives me best accuracy. Win M70 Classic with a Shilen 26" barrel.

76gr RL-22
Fed 215 primer
Federal cases

Velocity - 3150 fps

76 grs. of RL-22 is my standard load...It just seems to work in all the 300 Win. I have tried it in....

The loads I am going to give you are safe in my guns and relate only to the 180 grain weight as this is what you are starting with. However, don't start with these loads as they may not be safe in your gun.

W-W Brass - New
CCI 250 Primer
73.5 grains of IMR 4831
Hornady 180 grain BTSP
C.O.L. 3.340"
Ave Velocity: 3030 fps
Gun: Browning BAR

W-W Brass - New
Fed 215M Primer
74.0 grains of IMR 4831
180 grain Nosler Partition
C.O.L. 3.487"
Ave Velocity: 3160 fps
Gun: Browning Stainless Stalker

W-W Brass - Once fired/Neck sized
Fed 215M Primer
74.5 grains of IMR 4831
180 grain Swift Scirocco
C.O.L. 3.500
Ave. Velocity: 3160 fps
Ave group size: runs between .80 and 1 inch depending on how I am shooting.
Gun: Browning Stainless Stalker

Currently working on a load consisting of the new 180 Nosler Accubond.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

I used 73.5 grains of RL-22 behind a 180 grain Barnes X flat base for many years. It consitently shot well below MOA until I had 5000 rounds through the barrel, at which time accuracy went to hell no matter what I did and I was forced to buy a new rifle, and a second to back that one up. Life can be HELL, but somebody has to live it.

Yup, I use Steves page as one of many sources for all my loading. I also use Hornady, Hodgdon, Sierra, Speer, Nosler, Accurate, Lee, and Barnes. Is that OK? Well, I hope I didn't offend anyone!!!

76.0gr of Reloader 22 for 180gr bullets. Tough to beat without spending a lot of money and time at the bench.

Well I for one am not going to plagarise anything. The .300 Win Mag is not inherently accurate, the neck is too short, it is a belted case, and there are way too many recipies offered already. That the existing 1000 yd. 5 shot record of 1.437" was shot with one of them baffles me. It can't have happened! I think he used H1000 though. I may be wrong. Possibly an SMK as well. Oh well, good luck anyway.
