AR length WSM?
With all the wildcat interest for the 300 wsm - is anyone doing a .243 to 6.5mm on it that's under 2.25" OAL? (So it would fit in the AR-15 magazine.) High Power shooters are pushing the weight limits on 223.

If your constraints are OAL, 3000 fps, and 100 - 120 grains. What's doable? I know people have done some pretty crazy stuff in this department before.

I know it could be made to function, but I think the velocity goal is unrealistic, as you will loose alot of case capacity when going that short. You'd have to shorten the case by ~0.50", I'm guessing that would put you down around a 6.5 JDJ. I don't know how big the case would be, but would expect 120 gr vel of ~2700, add a couple hundred for the 100's.

I think you'd have to use an AR-10 platform to get the speed your after.

I don't know, but here is a link to some guys that turn a mouse gun into a real game rifle. http://www.tromix.com/Welcome.htm (hit 458 SOCOM).

Doesn't that look like a good brush gun for elk? LOL! Dutch.
