Garfield.243 loads
I am looking for Loads for a .243 using Accurate Arms 2230 powder. Do not have a Accurate arms reloading manual and nobody in my area has them. I have just picked up a 8lb. can of Acurate Arms C2230. Loads are supposed to be the same for 2230.Will be using a 85 or 87 gr. bullet.
Thanks Leon

<green 788>Steve is right. The 2230 isn't the best powder for the .243 win.
The only load listed in the Accurate manual for the .243 using the 2230 powder is for the Nosler 55 grain Ballistic Tip, and they show 41.5 grains giving 3807 fps from the 24" test barrel.
If you have a 30-06 (you
do have a 30-06 don't you??

) you may want to try burning up that 2230 behind some 125 grain or 150 grain slugs in that rifle. About 53 grains for the 125's, and about 50 grains for the 150's. Just a thought...
2230 is a good .223 Remington powder...
