Bullets for 375 Win. velocities?
Anyone have any bullet recommendations other than the 200 gr. Sierra? I’m loading for a T/C Contender in 375 JDJ and while the Sierra has worked I’m looking for a heavier bullet, one that’s not designed for 375 H&H velocities.

I’ve looked at the Barnes bullet but JD Jones cautions against copper tubing bullets because of pressure concerns with the relative weak Contender.

Speer #12 lists 375 Winchester (handgun load) with the 235-grain bullet.

They also show a picture (page 532) of a bull elk taken with a 375 JDJ (270 grain boattail). In #12 they provide no data for the JDJ that I could find.

I shoot both these bullets in reduced loads for a 375 Ruger. Accurate and deadly on paper plates.

maybe consider lead?
Lyman makes a good gas checked bullet that the 375's seem to dote on even at full jacketed speeds.

With no tube magazine to worry about, any lighter, pointed bullet should be OK in moderate handloads. There has been a hollowpoint 210gr copper bullet made by the Australian firm called Atomic29, which is supposed to kill deer-sized game well, but it was quite expensive - even before the tariffs.

Those bullets have such a big hollow, plus 'driving bands', that I would be surprised if they gave undue pressure problems.
