Anyone NOT resize revolver loads ea. time they reload?
Had a friend tell me he routinely does not resize his revolver loads except about every 3-4 reloadings. I just checked some empties out of my 357 and it looks like there is enough friction to hold the bullet till crimped. Anyone else do this??

Nope! You need case tension in addition to the crimp to properly hold the bullet. Or so I`ve been repetedly told.....my bullets won`t stay put in the cases without resizing.

Nope, I resize all revolver brass each time, but, my reveolver loads are substantial. Light loads might work fine.

Nope resize them every time. Mine would not hold a bullet if I didn't. I have reloaded many tens of thousands of them.

C.E.("Ed") Harris wrote about this in "The Fouling Shot" (Cast Bullet Assoc.) recently. I decided to try this using unsized wadcutters (homemade) and unsized cases with 3.1gr. CLAYS in a Mod.10 S&W & a Ruger BH (.357mag. cases). While the results were OK in both pistols, I couldn't easily load the unsized cases in the Ruger. Results were even better when I [gently] sized the WC's to .359" and sized the cases as per usual.

Of course. Such practice has to be limited to very low pressure loads that don't expand the case necks enough to require resizing. I used to shoot some very mild .45 ACP loads cast bullet loads (3 gr Red Dot) in a S&W revolver and a Ruger Blackhawk convertible. These cases could be reloaded several times without the need of resizing. In other words, with this load, resizing was an unnecessary step.

I don't see how you get good consistant bullet pull by not sizing. Your friend must load on a single stage press & is trying to save some time. animal

I have to disagree with some of you. If the chambers of the revolver cylinder were fairly tight, the elasticity of the brass would cause it to spring back to about its original size after firing. I understand that some bench rest shooters with guns with tight chambers don't resize between firings for this reason.

Granted, I don't think the above applies to very many guns; certainly not to any I've loaded for.
