Can I effectively taper crimp a bullet that does not have a cannelure? (.45ACP)

Ol` JoeTaper crimps were made for groveless bullets, it works fine. When crimping make sure you don`t crimp to tight, all you want is enough to keep the bullet from moveing when you press the bullet nose hard on your bench. If you over do it you will bulge the case behind the crimp causeing chambering problems.

<Powderman>Also, for best accuracy in the .45 ACP, you will have to find a crimp diameter that your pistol likes.
To do this, load an accuracy load for your pistol in 5 round lots. Apply varying (increasing) crimp pressure, and measure just below the case mouth. Fire these groups from the bench, and note the results. You will notice the difference in your shot groups.
