Gentlemen,

We have one of Roy's German made rifles - bu Sauer - in this caliber, and thought of developing some loads for it.

I will post our results as soon as we finish it.

I've shot IMR-4895,H335,Re-12 and Re-15 in mine,with 40-55's. The new Re-10 might be applicable,but I've yet to get my hands upon any.

Will be curious to read your findings.............

I've just looked at a Weatherby MK V Deluxe that on the barrel is stamped "Made In W. Germany". Would this also have been made by Sauer? What is your opinion of the rifle. The rifle I'm referring to is for sale and I'm giving some thought to acquiring it.

I have had a couple of 224 Varmintmasters and they both shot excellent with most powders but 748 was consistantly the most accurate with very good velocity with 50 Grain B.Ts.
I think this rifle and cartridge was one of Weatherbys best combinations,a real shame it was dropped and the original Varmintmaster rifle in the 224 cartridge is a lot more desirable than the current version rifles in my opinion.

I am not sure whether Weatherby had more than ome model made in Germany.

The one we have has Sauer Weatherby Junior stamped on the left side of the receiver.

I would certainly buy, if it is in good condition and have not been shot too much.
