dgr416What loads are small Rifle magnum primers used for?
I have a bunch of CCI Small Rifle magnum primers.I use them in my muzzleloader but i will never use over 100 .I have like 2000 of them .I thought if I could I have three calibers that might could use them:223,357 remington Maxium,454 casull if possile.I know its impossible to find any primers where I live so I want to use these or get rid of them.
CCI 450 primers can be used in .223/5.56 if the powder is H335.
I've seen that combination used when loading for a AR15 with a 5.56 chamber.
This is off the top of my head. No maunal handy.

ramrod340You can use them for anything you use a reg small rifle primer for. Just work up a new load.
As usual just my $.02

seafire2You don't need them, but they will work in 223 loads...
I'd personally only use them in something like a BR or PPC or the 47mm Lapua case....
but then when you have 2000 of them to waste...
anything goes...

Agreed. And you can also use them in any pistol caliber which has the small size primer pocket if you wish. There is negligible diffence between these and "regular" SR or SP primers.

MoorepowerMagnum primers will take more pressure. In a .223 a 6 1/2 rem primer can pierce before it gets to max load or sami pressure and a magnum typically will not show pressure signs, such as flattening. Most have a thicker cup. .204 Ruger also loves them.

BoxheadI use them with Lil'Gun in my 22 Hornet to achieve best accuracy. This after much testing that was started via a Ross Seyfried advisement.

MThuntrI saw some 308 brass in the classifieds that had small rifle primer pockets. I would probably use small mag primer for those.
I'd probably use them with H335 like mentioned before.
