A large German Shepard decided to attack A Siamese cat I once had. I thought the cat was going to choke the dog and I was going to have to pull him out of the dog’s throat. Instead the cat got under the dogs throat and was going at him with his back claws front claws and teeth all at once. When the cat decided the dog had enough it let go. We never seen that dog again, but me and (I hate to admit it) the cat were life long friends. Any animal that tough deserves my respect.

I have to admit that I once had a feral drink anti-freeze and live. Once that happened, he was obviously brain-damaged, but I refrained from killing him. He would follow me around when I worked on cars and get in the way. He would also lick the grease off the zerts on equipment after I lubed it. It gave him the "shits and shakes", but he never died from it.

Even in something as vile as a cat, you just have to respect toughness.

Hi all, When I first got married we lived in a house that was patroled by the ugliest, maingiest, fleabitten wreck of a cat you ever saw, the kind that waited for you to see him piss on the truck and then run like hell. I had a pellet rifle of fair power that had killed at least 25 ground squirrels so I waited for the right moment and poped him straight on 1/2" above the eye's. Saw the fur fly. Cat jumped and was gone. 3 days later heard him fighten another cat on the roof. Same thing flashlighted him and pop right in the head. Same reaction jumped, twitched and ran off. I know what your thinking, Should have tried for a chest shot or used the 22. In town with close nieghbors prevented this. Hoped to drop him on the spot. A week later he was back, this time armed with a cross bow of 50 lbs pull I got him clean about mid section. The foot race was on, The damn thing went under my wifes sisters house. About a week later we found the arrow. Almost 6 months later we would still see him but he finally got the hint to stay away from my house. Thought about live trapping him and breading him with some other alley cat to make a pride of couch cougars to be reintroduced into the wilds of the oilfields.
