Swamp_Fox25 WSSM
My son and I went to the range today. Putting together a .243 for him and his sister to shoot.
Someone left their 25 wssm brass at the firing point.
As I looked over the cartrige I couldn't help thinking that this might be good for a single shot pistol like the XP-100.
Any crat assasin would see the implications.

hughjassMight be a little overbore for a handgun. You probably would kill crats with just the blast and not need to hit them.

DigitalDanWhile not arguing the fact that peestols shoot rifle cartridges weeth some success, given a steady hold and proper boolits, I am staggered by the popularity of such activities.
I cast about on restless nights worrying about this...wondering...why? If one has an inclination for thunderous claps of sound, equating same with horsepower, it is only necessary to buy a stock RSBH in .44 Mag.

If one is driven to handicap otherwise adequate cartridges with short barrels, well you can reduce the .308 to 30-30 performance or less with a 12-14" barrel, no problem.

Searching for inefficient rounds is best promoted by seeking poor exspansion ratios, high muzzle pressures etc etc etc.
Personally I find it easier to run with a rifle in my hands than a pocket rifle strapped to my body, or a hogleg on my hip. It is also easier to run with your kilt up than your pants down. I don't know what that has to do with anything now that I think of it, and in truth don't know what any of this has to do with anything else. I probably should head over to the Crater for a spell, my mind is right for that endeavor at least.
