Aspen Hill AdventuresNearly One Year Later....
Many of you will remember the Trophy Tom tale I told where I finally pegged that monster feral with the aid of my own cat, Zena.
Well, tonight his Askari finally fell too.
I caught him in my barn. Something killed one of my ducks a few nights ago. Tonight I go into the barn to put the birds and MY cats to bed and there it was, the black feral that Trophy Tom was chasing after through my woods last spring.
This feral then ran up the stairs and into the hay loft and sprinted around there trying to figure an escape. He slid through an opening and dropped down into one of my horse stalls. BIG MISTAKE. The stall doors were closed, top and bottom. It has Dutch style doors with the top one having strong wire mesh.
This allowed me the time to get properly armed. The feral tried climbing back up into the loft but I drilled him. From there he forced his way through the divider into the chicken coop and ran out the back door into the paddock.
I've never seen a cat squeeze through such a small hole before.
In the fading twilight, as it was heading for the big woods, my trusty 10/22, the "Critter Shitter" swung into action. I emptied the magazine on my speeding target and found joy at the back fenceline.
This was the last of the ferals here. There are no more.

We Americans were tired of being thought of as dumb, by the rest of the world. So we went to the polls in November 2008 and removed all doubt.....let's not do it again in 2012 please.
Another fine Aspen Hill Adventure! Way to go Ann. derf

DigitalDanMe too.

Ann, it managed to get thru the small hole because you'd already "drilled" it, thus managing to be more supple...like letting air out of a tire...?
