It is a sort of mating dance. The first time I rolled into the driveway of the farm we bought here in BC in 78 it was in Oct and a mite frosty. Came up the driveway between the close growing pines and as we broke out of the trees and into the open back farmyard a rabbit did this very same trick. It was just like watching one of Uncle Walts cheezey Wonderland flics. Man it musta took me 3 or 4 weeks to get rid of all the damned rabbits that a previous tenant had released.
We did keep one of them as he thought he was a dog and would fetch,fight with the stick and hop up to stange cars when they came into the yard and growl at the strangers! Shoot, he was just one of our clan! derf
