98 Dodge Stratus cat kill
98 Dodge Stratus cat kill
Last night, coming home after a 16 hour day, I hit a nice and juicy feral blackie. He looked to be halfway between a long and short-hair. Thumped him with both left tires and didn't even realize it until I did it.
I can even kill them half-asleep. Now THAT is talent.
Not to brag, but I smoked one the other day with a tractor-trailer. Got him with the duallies of the tractor and the duallies of the trailer. Maybe some would call that a "double whammy!"

Old Elk HunterRemember the old cartoon character Felix. Well you guys could call him Felix the Flat. Good driving.
RELOAD - ITS FUN!
Yea good driving .
Just be careful driving half asleep.
If you can miss seeing a cat target then what other easy targets will you miss.
Also ditches mess you up ,when you fall asleep , I found that out the hard way a few years back.

DigitalDanFelix the Flat huh? Well, I kinda like that.

Long time back while living on Guam, I was out on Northwest Field with a friend and a Win. Mod. 50 in 12 Ga, Full. We were looking for dove, maybe a pig or deer, all we were seeing was some kind of odd bird that had a passing resemblence to a Kill Deer, or Kill Dee as some call them. My buddy asked what they were, "Bastard Birds" I said. Little while later he decided one or two of them would do for sport and said he wanted to "Blast a couple of them Bastards." We drove up on a few, he got all excited and as he grabbed the gun he proclaimed "Blastards!" We didn't 'cause we were laughing too hard, but to this day I remember them as Blastards, a nondescript coastal bird that plays a wicked game of psychology.

N. S. SherlockIt would be understandable for a person to say"I was fixing a flat", "looked in the rearview mirror but it was only half flat".

DigitalDanHaiku Flat Crat
by Dan
Sweet music to ear
Eight pipes roar in cool night air
Much laughter, thump thump
It rhymes when translated to Japanese. I think.

How flat is flat?
The question lies answered,
at Highways 40 and 200.
Just how flat is a flat crat?
After it's hit by a tire, times 100.
It is about this thick,
perhaps a bit less.
If hit by cars, not trucks,
for they leave one to guess.
Thicker than a dollar,
less than a waffle.
You must witness at the right time,
or behold something just...awful.
Wider than the yellow line,
less so than two lanes.
Such are the dynamics,
of making calicos thin...and plain.
It takes steely nerves,
but not much of a sermon.
If you want to make flat,
that thing called Birman.
I'm done here now,
Old poets are moaning.
Make sure you get them all,
then drink champagne foaming.

Would you believe THREE Dodges? And I just got rid of one, so it used to be FOUR!
And I'm not particularly a Dodge fan, that's just the way it's turned out.

DigitalDanI can relate. I'm really fond of Porches but I drive a Ford. Or a Chevy, depending on circumstance.

Old Elk HunterDD,
I would like to share some tales about Guam but the first place I lived on Guam was a Marine base that got blown away in a typhoon. The next time I was there was in the Navy and it was a brief layover on the way to Nam. All I remember was the cliff we flew into to land at the airport, the heat and humidity, the boredom, the ugly women, and the damn gooney birds. The best part of Guam was leaving that lonely island.

Fritz KrautA #98 is always a good remedy against cats - however I prefer a 8mm Mouser before a common Dodge.

An 8mm mouser, isn't that an awfully small cat!

I have and would prefer to use an 8mm Mauser, well except for the likelyhood of the intervention of the RCMP!

DigitalDanOEH, that was Andersen AFB you landed at, my home for 2.5 years, 1963-1965. You're right for the most part about the wenches, but if you have a bent for the outdoors it was pretty neat back then. The diving was superb, hunted dove, hogs, deer and goats too. For entertainment at school we had rumbles between the dependent kids and selected groups of island boys, mostly the ones from Dedido, Asan and Agana. Actually, if just wasn't the white kids they didn't like, it was everyone that wasn't born there. So it was all the trust territory kids and military dependents vs. them. There was two distint ethnics grouping of Guamanians. Before some Spaniard discovered the island it was "tall, fair skinned(relatively speaking) masters, and short stocky slaves. You might imagine that the short stockies held a lingering resentment, so they mostly were on our side. Great sport for the most part, they'd start a brawl, we'd kick ass, repeat the process a few days later. One day one of "them" brough a gat to school and shot one of his buds in the foot. No rumble that day.

Well, some of my more enjoyable moments included shark hunting, free diving to 80', cliff climbing and cave diving at the Marbo Perm Spring. Still have a lot of shells I collected, and a Win. Mod 50 I purchasesd at the PX with the procedes from spearfishing. We found a Jap straggler too, what a hoot!

Oh yeah, every once in awhile somebody would steal a car, or run away. Guam is 32x6 on average, had no idea then or now where they thought they were headed to.

We used to go down to the terminal twice a week to watch you fellas passin' thru on the way to Nam, never realized I'd go too. On Thursday the flight that brought new transfers to the base came in, so we were always there looking for new skirt. Didn't take much to create a stir, no sirree! Two boobs and standard body temp would do the trick.

Damn thing about the rock was that there weren't any crats to speak of. I did use the Win. on a black one out at Northwest field once, but that's the only one I remember.

Well, I don't recall if I had more fun there or in Nam now that I think of it. The gals were more obliging in Nam, mostly a bit cuter to boot. Both places were about equally dangerous, if it wasn't the screaming yellow hoards with AK's it was the Great White or sea snakes. I used up a lot of luck back then...
