Jerry HuffakerThe best response yet was on Taxnet, a guy said it reminded him of the Obama Administration.

Nanook 450"The difference between a killer and a hunter"
The act of doing a serious search for something, then deciding whether to deprive if of life . . .
Respect; read the definition, you can't respect something if you kill it.
I could understand disliking a mount of an animal that has no comedic personality, but a baboon appears to be respected as a comedy mount, as the character it portrays in its real life.
If I ever shoot one, I'll find a way to make it look like Obama, because it would be funny, and I don't respect the clown.
I cannot think of any other game animal that would make a comedic mount, but I love them.

CharlesLMy wife decorates trophies in the "common areas" of the house at Christmas and sometimes I find hats and/or sunglasses on them. I have one rule and that is if she damages one she pays for the trip, trophy fees, and taxidermy bill to replace it. That rule keeps the decorating to a minimum.
It would be hard to mount baboons in a way that I would find to be disrespectful for baboons.

Rub LineI had considered getting my baboon mounted sitting on a couple of ammo crates with a ww2 helmet on his head, shooting my Browning 1919. A crazed look on his face, cigar hanging down and some ammo links around his shoulders. I decided that I really didn't want the 'comedy' to take away from the rest of the African mounts in my room. I am going to use the skull to make a book-end, though.
I don't really like the pool queue holders or the beer tray holders, but I'm not going to look down my nose at someone for doing so. Any animal mount could be considered disrespectful to the right person, comedy or not.

eyedocI just saw the chimp/frog video from page 2 and want to state that I find this disgusting. I insist that any animal I get jiggy with be at least warm blooded if not mamallian.
We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

mboga biga bwanaBaboons are about the sharpest pencil in the box in Africa and it seems disrespectful to me to dress them up in silly garb. I suppose it is the same as the often argued "Ethics" question. Each to his own.
