David CulpepperTo shootaway poster
Started a new thread so this can be discussed rather than all over someone's trophy room thread.
quote by shootaway
"because many people are scared to come out of the dark and therefore do not get the benefits of vitamin sunshine.Aren't trophies meant to be seen? After being in the sun my eyes can't see that well in the dark, therefore I can't see the trophies in dark places.Artificial light is good, but only at night."
Sunshine would make the mounts look very good, however, it is very bad for them. To which several of us told you. It causes them to fade which IMO destroys the apperance of the mounts. Therefore, we have to use mostly artificial light to show them night or day. The trophies are very important to us.
Might I suggest when you come in from the sunshine that you take off your sunglasses
then you will be able to see.

Also, if you want to give advice make sure it is good and constructive, not like the little one liner insults you usually give out.

I think you give him far too much credit. It is nice of you to try to steer him in the right direction, though.

BNagelHey shootaway
Let's see a picture of you in big boy pants AND a trophy / trophy room. Better yet, zip it.

I, too, find them irritating. Like a tsetse fly!
Trophies are not dead animals...they are living memories.

shootawaymaybe it's because you guys attract flies

shootawayBTW,I saw a nice furniture peice made from elephant tusks in a antique furnture store's window display. It's been there for at least a few years.I always find a parking spot nearby when I go out and it's in my path.It is a glass shelf display case or I guess it could be used for book shelves. It is very nice about 4ftx4ft,with one tusk on each side connected to and supporting glass shelves. Each tusk is on an attractive pedestal.I think it is in good taste when there are trophies in a room and they are done so they do not attract too much attention and are used in some of the furniture. If anyone is in montreal and wants to see this piece,it is on Sherbrooke street facing the museum of fine arts.
25 September 2006, 01:59
shootawayThey may not be real tusks even if they really look like it.I don't know what the laws are regarding this.

You must be the poster who enjoys hunting in shorts. Why would you want to wear shorts around men? I will provide you a picture soon with a beautiful tiger to enjoy.

BNagelFor those who have an interest, check 'Taxidermy' forum : "Bruce G's kudu work" thread. Not a trophy room, just a trophy in my living room. When I can play with the big boys myself, maybe there'll be a trophy room in my future. Until then, thanks for the priviledge of seeing how it can be done. Kudos to those who are able to safari "the way it ought to be done".

Kamo GariWow! Then that means you must have a whole two or three years under your belt, yes? I'd hate to think you're any older than that, as then you'd be a truly pathetic adult.

That's the biggest piece of crap. If your statement were true would not be insulting everyone. I started this thread in the hope it would get you to grow up, I guess that was just wishful thinking on my part.

shootawayAll you guys want to make me look bad so you can look good, because you don't feel you look good.Well keep on trying cause I want to know what it feels not to feel good.So any other posters will join the list of the feel bad.If I were a priest i would bless you all to help you.
05 October 2006, 17:53
jorgeShootaway: making you look bad is about as hard as passing gas after a platefull of pork and beans.
All you do with your poorly written one liners is insult and criticize. But apparently that dim bulb of yours is not even bright enough to see that many people are on your case as a result of your moronic and insulting postings.
If I were a priest, I'd give you absolution allright, right before I kicked you ass all the way down to the collection tray. Dim wit. jorge

I also liked the untamed world. They used to show it on sunday evenings. They don't have shows like that anymore. The only Carmelo I know anything about is one that my girlfriend cheated with when I was in high school on summer vacation.
