Some mounted animals from Namibia
Here`s a couple of pics of the trophies I got back from the taxidermist the other day..

The trophy-room is not finished yet. I have just started to decorate it. It will have more pictures and african stuff as soon as I have time.. Smiler
Hope you will enoy it. Especially Widowmaker416. Hope this helps you in planning a full-mount of your Klipspringers. I have some ideas in decorating the stones a bit more, with grass, seed and stuff..

Good job Anders! You will have quite a trophy room! thanks for the photo's, now I just need to find some time to mount my own critters! I like the way you desplay the porcupine quills thumb

When you have all your critters in their final place in your room, the grass and other habitat is a great idea, adds a lot to the mounts!

Now you have the fun of decorating and reliving the hunt for each animal as you do it. Have fun!

Thank you!
I`m a young guy with limited money, so I have always thought that I would spend as much of my money on hunting instead of taxidermy.. You know, it`s quite expensive and if I choose scullmounts only, I might be able to save up to that dream-hunt a bit quicker.. But damn, it`s important with shoulder and fullmounts as well.. Big Grin
I have discovered I want both, so I need to get rid of other expenses instead.. Smiler

Nice decorations! Nice Mounts ! Did you shoot the Baboon? Tell us about that hunt. I am interested in how you get them - do you just run into them or hunt for them special?

Baboons! I enjoy hunting them, I've taken 16 so far and mounting all of them.

usually you run into a troop (herd)when out hunting. You then set out on foot to try and get close enough for a shot. One thing my PH trys to do is get in the middle of the troop, and ambush them. it's a lot of fun!!! I always go for the big old troop leader.

Riodot,
This is the first time I`ve shot a baboon (only been to Africa twice).
It was not much of a hunting experience. Taken from the vehicle on the first day. They were free to shot, and I hoped to get a chance for another one on foot, but they were to scary..

It was a big old warrior (20 years and 100 pounds according to my Ph), but his time was gone. My Ph said he had been driven out of the herd.

Thanks for your nice comments guys!

Thanks Erik!
The work is done in Denmark by Åge Dahl Sørensen of Dahls Trofemontering. I`m impressed by most of his work, and he also charge low prices. I checked some norwegian taxidermists, and they was charging 12000NKr + for the fullmounted dikdik. I ended up paying Dahl a little over half that price.
Fullmounted tiny`s is a tuff task for most taxidermists, but he has a passion for them himself. He had not mounted dik dik before, so I was a bit sceptic, but he managed the job with great skill.. Smiler
