This would be great for trophy rooms!
A friend of mine is in the graphics business and just showed me something that would be fantastic for a trophy room. Sorry I don't have a photo yet but I'll try to describe it . . .

He can take any photograph, or computer generated artwork (such as fading photos together, Photoshop altered photos, logos on photographs, etc.) and prints them on special textured wallpaper. The printed panels are 4 feet wide and as long as you want. Any person who can hang wallpaper can put it up. Several textures are available from fine to coarse (i.e. stucco).

When it's done, the wall looks like a giant original oil painting and looks very, very good!

The one I saw was a photo of a Texas sunset with silhouettes of a horse and rider, and a windmill in the foreground. In the sky was the word "TEXAS" faded into the clouds with the Texas flag barely discernible in the letters. Around the edges of the photograph looked like brown leather several inches wide with ranch brands on it. It would be perfect for a ranch house.

For a trophy room, photos of African sunsets, Rocky Mountains, or even a collage of photos could be used. The ideas are limitless.

What really surprised me was the price . . . He does it for $16.00 per square foot and then your walpaper hanger would charge for hanging it. That may sound high, but considering that it looks like original artwork on the wall, I think it's pretty reasonable!

If anyone's interested I'll get a photo and post it.

Thanks!

And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. (author: David Petzer)

JDS,

That sounds interesting. Perhaps it could be used similar to a diorama behind say a life sized lion mount. I'd love to see a photo.

As soon as they get the Texas scene put up I'll get a photo and post it.

It may be a few days, though, the ball and chai . . . er . . . wife and I are leaving for Colorado Tuesday morning. We'll be back Sunday night.

Thanks!

Anyluck with a photo yet? We bought a house instead of building with the plan you sent me and I'm in the process of setting up the trophy room.
