JPriceAnders,
Sorry it took so long to get back to your question? The room is the shape of an L. The part of the room with the fire place is 19x34+/- and the room with the gun cabinet is 18x22+/-, this measurement inc. the bar barely visible in the pic and the bathroom both on the right side facing the gun cabinet. Total about 1100 sq' Thanks for the positive feedback!
On a side note my plateline is 10' and 15'6" in center. One thing I wish I would have done is a 12' plateline. Oh well, I have really enjoyed it so far and cant wait for my hides to get in the States for the wildlife gallery to start working on them.

AndersMy room is going to be the shape of an L as well..

When you say 19x34, is that foot? And is 1100 sq. foot? Might be a stupid question, but you know us europeans are used to meters and centimeters..

My room is going to be around 750 sq. foot if my conversions went through..
What is plateline, btw?
16 February 2010, 17:50
JPriceyes, square feet! The plateline is the height of the walls. 10 feet

archer_375Very nice addition! What kind of wood did you put on the ceiling?
14 April 2010, 18:17
JPriceThank you,
The ceiling is tongue and groove pine
15 April 2010, 01:49
archer_375I am just starting a similar project and had picked tongue and groove pine for the ceiling but made a last second change to cedar. How did the pine take the stain? My concern was that the pine would soak up the stain unevenly but yours looks great. I am after a darker color like yours turned out. The cedar is about a $600 add on.
15 April 2010, 04:03
JPriceCedar in my opinion is alot harder to stain. Take for example the 12"x12" columns in the room they are rough douglas fur(more similar to cedar) and I had a hard time staining to match. I much prefer stained pine over cedar. I can email you specific pics if you would like.

archer_375I would love all the pics/advice you're willing to send/give. My email is cenins@daktel.com
My room is going to be 30x34 with 12 ft. sidewalls and finished to the peak with a vault. The ceiling is wood, the walls will be sheetrock over plywood. The floor will be ceramic tile. They are pouring the floor next week!
15 April 2010, 05:20
archer_375I should have clarified...I would not stain the cedar as it is dark enough with just a seal coat. Pine I would stain for sure. I'll try to post pics as the project transpires...
