Fortress of Solitude

AtticusFortress of Solitude
I call my "trophy room" the "Fortress of Solitude". It’s in my basement and suffers from low ceilings, but is a great place to sit, recall wonderful hunts and watch the Red Sox. The Patio is right outside and a great spot for a drink and a cigar. Someday I'll put an addition onto the house with higher ceilings, but this will do nicely till then.
The Eastern Cape wall (August 2004)
Namibian wall (September 2005)
Caracal
Aroostook county, Maine Moose (September 2003)
The first birds; Pheasant, Partridge and Woodcock, taken over my Setter who is also in the picture.

308SakoA well titled retreat! Nicely laid out and well deserved I'm sure. Enjoy the memories and the planning. Too bad about the Red Sox, or I'd have said something nice...

CarluchinLooks like a very nice place to relax.....
Too bad you dont get the Yankees channel and have to watch the Red Sox. As a Ct. expat living in Fl, devoid of any significant cultural life, I also lack access to Yankee games so: I feel your pain!
(PS...watching the Marlins is just not a reasonable option).
Funny I always thought Fortress of Solitude was a reference for the shitter.
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

You have a super room there, the only thing that is sad is having to watch the Red Sox! You need to get the "YES" network!

That is a very good Maine Moose! Aroostook County? I hunted many years there for Whitetails, my family took some really good bucks from there. We hunted off Reality Road, Round Pond Long Lake area.

AtticusSure are lots of Yankee fans here.
WM416, I know that area well. I deer hunt in the Oxbow area every year. We shot my moose near Masardis. He was 50" and dressed out at 850lb.

AtticusThe rest of the "Fortress of Solitude"; Including the windows.
Reading area
Bookshelves
And the window and door (which leads outside to the cigar area)
Bwanajcj;
The dog (a Llewellin setter named Atticus) only looks "mounted" while pointing New England Grouse and Woodcock. Or, as in this shot, the elusive Central Massachusetts Robin.
