My Trophy Room is finally finished.........
Let's see if this works....

Seemed to work..here's some more.

I've been lucky and had some great hunts, with any luck I'll have many more.

Very nice, Doc. A man could relax with a glass of Scotch in a room like that.

Very nice, I am jealous. But is it really finished or just until your next hunting trip when you get more trophies?

Doc;
Looks good. I'm especially impressed with the Goat. Never seen one mounted like that before. I like it.

DocGlenn:

Your trophy room is outstanding. How tall are the ceilings?
07 August 2006, 05:00
DocGlenn
The lower area (where the pool table is) has a ceiling height of 12', the upper area has a height of 10'. It is a basement, so I had to plan for that finished height as they were pouring the walls, but my contractor did it right and it worked out. I've still got my Dall sheep and turkey to put up as soon as they are finished. I think I'm really going to get to enjoy it especially as my boys get older. It'll be fun trying to find a place to put their stuff on the walls too.

Excellent! Very well done. I really like the variety and classy display. I'n sure you will spend many fond hours reminiscing....

I, too, doubt it is finshed! Trophy rooms seem always a work in progress as the next hunting trip occurs. Yours could easily stay finished for years to come, however, and it would produce hours of enjoyment.

Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful trophy room you've got there. It's very well planned out. Is that your future hunting buddy in the second pic?

Very nice indeed!

I too like the goat. I also enjoyed the pedistal mounts of the two impala and the springbok and blesbok.

Congrats!!

Nice room and great mounts. Thanks for sharing.

I'll bet there's a good story to the one horned impala over the bar.

Sevens,

He'll be my hunting buddy when I can get him to sit still for more than 30 seconds and be a little less loud than he is now. Actually, I can't wait to take him hunting, I just gotta wait until HE wants to go, you don't have to be quiet or still to hunt squirrels with a good dog.

Thanks for all the compliments!

What an odd comment......There are no windows because it is a basement, besides sunlight is not good for mounts (any moron knows that) and as for a lack of class....well you're entitled your opinion.

Doc: Just do a search of his posts and you'll see that you're in good company. Maybe some day we'll be treated to his numerous trophies, good taste, and maybe complete sentences.... jorge

Very nice. I especially like the fact that you didn't paint the walls white!

I like the way you did the lighting. All the mounts seem well lit yet the room is not too bright.

I also really like the wall color. Its seems to compliment the mounts.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

May I come enjoy your classless and dark trophy room? I will bring my own booze, share it and I will even leave my shoes on when I sit on your couch enjoying the dark, low class room full of critters I can't see.

Jorge,

I did start looking at his posts, and figured out pretty quickly he's at least one can short of a six pack. Probably has something to do with being from Montreal (probably some French blood in there). Bless his little heart, it's no surprise his elevator doesn't quite make it to the top floor. stir

I was bowhunting in SA and we kept seeing the same 1 horned impala out of this one blind. The PH told me if I saw again to take it as a cull animal (no trophy fee). He came back and I was able to make the shot. He made a nice european mount and I had the hide tanned. Sorry there wasn't a GOOD story behind it, but it added to the total bag for the hunt. I've learned that archery shots are never a sure thing.
