The Den - very modest trophy room
No African trophies yet and nothing terribly spectacular, but this is the room where I relax and sip the amber nectar.

Colorado Mulie & Kenai River Red Salmon

Valdez, Alaska Pink Salmon & Black Bear

Kansas Mallard

Montague Island, Alaska Harlequin Duck. Seven-and-a-half-year-old duck...and shot within 10 miles of where he was hatched.

I like the fish and the fishing rod; you have created a nice balance, and it shows what you like to do. After all, that is what a trophy room is all about.

Is that a bottle of Amarula on the safe?

Since you are an AF officer, is it safe to assume you were stationed in AK?

Yep, I had a glorious two year assignment to Anchorage, Alaska Then, God having a wonderful sense of humor, I spent two months on Korea and six months in Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, and the UAE... I did, however, have a friend in Valdez who kindly invited me back up for a successful Spring black bear hunt this year Smiler

Yep, it's a bottle of Amarula. I've got a nice little fire-pit in the backyard and Amarula sets the atmosphere just right.

Insofar as hunting does not necessarily involve killing...yes, I hunt with my recurve. In fact, on my Spring black bear hunt out of Valdez I managed to kill (harvest for the squeamish) pine cones, skunk cabbage, a paper cup, and a Pope & Young bait barrel.

Mike,

I really enjoyed hunting through you vicariously on your recent safari.

Here's a photo of the P&Y barrel. Man, when you hit that barrel it really makes the bear run FAST!!!

Since we're neighbors, feel free to drop by if you in Carlisle.

Very nice. You may want to come up my way to fish the Yellow Creek, fly only and catch and release as I understand. Still don't have any ammo for the 416T - someday Frowner
