Kudude's Trophy Room
I have been intending for some time to post pictures of my troph room, but it has been such a mess that I hestitated to publish any pictures of it. I have had to clean it up for the holidays and parties, so I took some pictures of my media room and reloading room.

This is the stairway to my part of the house.

The top is a cape kudu taken on my first trip in 1996. The buffalo was taken on trip #2 in 1998 in Zimbabwe. This is a close up of the buffalo.

This is view from the entry into my media room where I do my photo and video editing.

This is a closer view of the spiral horned antelopes and the waterbuck in the corner.

This is a closer view of the gemsbok and the west end of the room.

This is a close up of Yorick, the baboon, and several items I've picked up along the way.

This is my video editing set up and collection of springboks with my vaal rehbok and one of my Mt. Reedbucks.

This is the "reading corner" of the room with my other Mt. Reedbuck, Common Reedbuck, and Red Lechwe. The little cat over the door is a genet.

This is the entry from the media room into my reloading and gun room.

This is the east wall of the reloading room and my bonte buck, blesbok, and white blesbok. The female's skin is the rug in the foreground. The skull is a blue wildebeest female right of a male of the same species. There is a Red Hartebeeste on the end. The skull in the corner is from the hyena, see rug on floor. The hard to see animal on the end of the book case is a bushpig.

The skull mount over the book case is a bush buck. The deer is a long story. The black bass is from my one foray into fishing. The "spoon rack" holds my cartridge collection. The hide on the floor is from the bushbuck. On the left is my reloading bench.

This is a closer view of my reloading area. It is the neatest it has been in years. No projects underway until after the holidays.

Finally this is the west wall of my reloading room. It has the other animals I've taken of the tiny ten and my caracal. The animal in front of the caracal is a blue duiker. The animals on top clockwise from the top are clipspringer, oribi, Cape Grysbok, So. Bush Duiker, and Steinbuck. The small bows, arrows, and beadwork are from Namibia, and large ones from RSA. The axes were picked up in RSA, Tanz, and Zim. The knives are Masai.

After the trip to Tanz this year, I need more room. I plan to open up the basement area more and add a 14x17 room off of the reloading and gun room, and off of that room, a smaller room approxmiately 8x12 where I will moved the reloading setup. Hope you enjoyed the tour. Kudude

Ku-Dude: Very nice indeed. I see that you have the same reloading setup I have. BTW, how tall is your ceiling? Specifically the wall where your eland and life-size Nyala are displayed. jorge

Great collection! I love the way you have done the gemsbucks. I'm thinking of having mine done with the 90-degree turn like the one you have on the left.

Kudude: I really like the artifacts you gathered -- and the double oryx. Are the bows shootable?

Bill,
I don't know. Never tried it. The small bushman bows are probably more shootable than the big one, but they are not intended to shoot very far. That being said, the problem with the big one is most likely the bow string.

There a couple of places to pick up stuff. One of the best is the African Bazaar right behind the Holiday Inn in Cape Town on Market Square next to the Anglican Cathedral Church. They have mask, spears, you name it. I could kick myself for not getting a lion mane neck adornment. Kudude
