opus72Any space saving alligator mount ideas?
I FINALLY drew a SC alligator tag for the coming season. Not sure if I'll utilize the hide for belts, etc. or mount it life-size if I get a monster. An 11ft gator mount will take up an awful lot of space, so I'm trying to come up with other ideas. What have you all done with your crocs/gators?
I had the skull of one bleached out with the mouth open about 4 inches. It is on a dark walnut board. The contrast between the white bone and the dark wood is pretty striking. Mine has a bracket on the back for hanging it on the wall, but I've just got it laying flat on top the desk right now.
Doing the skull is fairly cheap, pretty interesting and doesn't require a lot of space. Plus you can utilize the skin. I had some shoes made for my wife out of mine. So, she has her trophy and I have mine.

opus72Picture quality is poor, but I may have found what I'm looking for after some Google searching. Neat idea I've never seen before. A dead gator mount instead of a live one. Just hang him up in the corner.

opus72The public gator season starts right before I get back from Zimbabwe... with a little luck I should be posting two hunt reports 60 days from now!

SevensThere's more pictures of the hanging crocodile at
Conroe Taxidermy. Look in the trophy room section.
The hanging gator was also the first idea that came to mind as well, or have him swimming up the wall (or down). Someone on this board has one done like that from the Wildlife Gallery. Who though, escapes me.

opus72That curled gator is cool! The rug on the wall is a good idea, but I'm just not a fan of reptile rugs myself.
Thanks for some ideas guys... keep 'em coming.
