Trophies On Pedestals
I was asked to post some photos of our animals on pedestal, and I thought I would add a few more.

The seats are covered in elephant skins we did here in Dubai.

My wife chose two different colors as you can see.

Wow! What a great display and room. Lots of memories there. Any favorites?

Not really.

But, each has a story behind it.

The leopard was quite funny.

We were putt8ng up a leopard bait one afternoon by an open plain with water in it.

While we were doing that, I saw this leopard come from the other side and walk to the water to drink.

I mentioned this to Roy, he never paid any attention - thinking I was kidding!!

Eventually he did, and as we saw the leopard walk back to the forest and started walking down the valley in the tree line.

We took the bait down, drove ahead of the leo[ard and put the bait in a tree, made a very rudimentary hide.

Early next morning we went there and shot him!

The buffalo is the biggest I have shot - 49 inches with a broken horn.

We were driving to a leopard blind, saw two buffalo running across the road ahead of us.

I jumped out of the truck and shot both!

We left Alan to load them up, and continued to our blind.

VERY NICE Saeed.

The mount of the leopard jumping after the impala is better than anything I have even seen in a museum.

These are all fun rifles.

The safari rifles are down in the shooting range.

Only time they leave there is to the airport to hunt.

My safari rifle is like my own child.

I created it and built it myself.

And it has been providing me and my friends who use it with absolute reliability and accuracy.

No matter what animal and at what range. clap

Got a question about calibers.

I have calibers up to the 700 NE.

Smallest is 17 right now.

I do have barrels in both .14 and .12, but have not built any rifles yet.

An impressive home, and very well decorated with both trophies, and furniture. I could put my whole collection in one room there and have room left over! Well done Saeed!

Having spent some time in those rooms with my wife, I can assure you the pictures don’t do them justice. The most impressive thing I saw was the elephant hide sofas! Thank you Saeed, for your hospitality!

You and your wife are always welcome in our home.

Thank you both for taking the time to come over and see us.

Mike,

I have several Blasers.

All I got through swapping. clap

For those who did not like them, and wanted a normal rifle. rotflmo

Saeed,

Do you have one favorite action, manufacturer or gunsmith that you prefer for your rifles?

Great pics!

Only one gunsmith I have used extensively, and that is my friend Dwight Scott.

He normally builds bench rest rifle, and he has built many for me, and some of my hunting rifles.

The rest I build here myself.

I like the traditional bolt actions, without any of the silly frills some manufacturers seem to feel they have to add.

Actions like the Dakota 76, Remington 700, and Sakos are great.

I personally do not like the traditional Mausers - far too much play in them.

I stay away from any of the new inventions, like straight pulls, moving actions and so on.

I will not build a rifle on any action that does not have proper locking lugs.

A perfect example of this are the Blasers rotflmo

I really like that Leopard/impala pedestal, I've never seen anything like it. The taxidermy work is top notch.
I have a good idea now on how to handle my next leopard.

Your home is beautiful. I especially like the sunken trophy open to the level above.

That buffalo is amazing!
