Re: Arizona Coues bowkill
Wow! That is a beauty. I've heard of some Coues getting that big in Mexico too, well, in the high 120's anyway. I'll be in AZ for OTC deer archery in January. Hitting my old stomping grounds that I haven't seen since '95. Putting in for piggie too in Oct.

Outdoor WriterNeat buck, Doc. Here's the P&Y record on the cover of the book I wrote with input from noted Coues deer guide, Duwane Adams. This buck was killed by Sergio Orozco in Jan. 2001 and scored 130 1/8". -TONY

I killed this deer near Tucson. First velvet buck ever and first AZ deer ever. I never knew these deer were so small. He scores 77" in velvet which, to my knowledge, still puts him in the record book by about 10". My wife calls him the girl deer because his eyelashes are so long. It is her favorite.

I spotted him from about 100 yards and had to slip up on him to about 20 yards. Shot him with a Hoyt bow, and Vortex head.
