Steve

congratulations on such a great trophy!

But we're gonna cause a shed load of confusion with the name thing! jump

Shakari, I will always defer to you. If you wish, I will change my screen name to eliminate any confusion. I didn't know of you untill after I registered on the board. Hope someday we can meet. We just need to get the Astronaut Steve Robinson in this also!

Steve,

I guess I should have said welcome to the forum!

there's absolutely no need to change your screen name - I'm sure that even if there is the odd occasion of mistaken identity it'll give us a smile at least Wink

Riodot, he was taken near Stampede Pass in WA. State. It was a Draw permit for Any Bull. I pet him every day!
Thanks scruffy, I agree with you.

Thanks Grizzly1, A friend asked if they were stained, no they weren't. They were that color when we hauled him out of the woods.

Is it my eyes or does that elk have a third horn? I've not heard of or seen anything like it; has anyone else?

Thanks everyone, yes Toomany Tools, he has a 3rd antler just under the left base. Don't know if its a genetic thing or was an injury when the antlers were forming. I hunt the same area every year with a fair sized group and none have ever seen another bull with 3 antlers either till this guy.
The quote from Jeff Cooper might not apply to me yet, I had alot of luck on my side. Alot of things go through your mind in a split second when you walk up on a bull like this and he turns to look at you, raises his nose and you can see his nostrills trying to get a sniff of ya, then starts troting off and I thought I had to at least try a shot, swung from the hip and pulled the trigger. A higher power guided that bullet through his brain and the next he knew he was in Elk Heaven.
