JFWIW. Yesterday chrono results otta a 24" 45/70.

All Rem brass-- REm 9 1/2Ms-- Lee 459-500-3R@ 490 grs ww alloy. All geared to around 20-22,000 psi.

23 grs 4227 1125 fps

24 grs 2400 1361 fps

23 Aliant '410' 1261 fps.

I wonder if you would even need the TP with the 2400 as it is not a position sensative powder. In C.E. Harris's article for using 2400 in cast loads in the 1994 Handloaders digest he does not reccomend using any fillers with this in military cases. Now I know the 45/70 case is a bigger case but I have heard too much of using fillers in cases to use any. You can call me chicken or what ever but I have heard it both ways and I like my Roller too well to destroy. So I guess I will not use any fillers even TP Jim
