Constant Pressure Mold Handles "DIY"
I was made aware of boolits dropping heavier towards the end of a casting session as your hand and therefore grip gets tired. Makes sense to me!
So I decided to do something about it and modified a set of locking pliers to accept boolit molds and hold the molds closed exactly the same from the beginning of the session to the end.
I wrote a whole "How To" article on my web site so you can build one also.......
www.rvbprecision.comNow I need to try it out to see if it improves my boolit weight consistency.
Thanks!

dozer2Been there several yrs back. Several problems showed up with use.
1. they get HOT!!!!
2. they tend to self adjust, just like in regular use.
3. that flip opening lever is a pain to use with gloves.
Not one of those issues has reared its head.
The handles are at 91 degrees with the Lyman mold at 425 degrees
A set screw or jam nut to lock down the adjuster bolt solved problem #2
#3 is no issue at all with TIG welding gloves
My hand is much less tired at the end of a casting session from not gripping the handles for an hour or two.
My bullets are only 3g variance for 535 grain bullets.
I would say it is a resounding success!
