This Year's Winnemucca Pics,... finally
Okay fellers, drum roll (or maybe a cannon salute), please. And follow the link to view this years festivities. These pics were provided courtesy Duke and Mac. I purposely put only 6 pics per page in case some y'all have slow connections. sundog

Hey, I didn't realise we had an Air Force! With Bart Simpson as the pilot, no less~!

And an artillery unit! Excellent!
I see Buckshot holding a power saw backwards. Is this a ploy to get out of work? Or is it a Polish saw?
In the future when someone wants to know what spring weather is like in the west, I can just point to these pictures. It looks like the gamut was covered.

Sundog...being I only know the fellows at that meet by name on the forum could you please somehow match the faces with the names? I figured out who Buskshot was by waksupi's remark about him holding the saw backwards. Who's the white bearded fellow firing the cannon? Who's BruceB?
Give get the drift..would appreciate it.

Starmetal, yup, by all means, but someone will have to send me (webmaster at castpics dot net) captions, as I was not there. No problemo! sundog

A motley crew indeed! I sure wish it was a bit less than 2200 miles one way for me. I am sure that shooting the breeze would be as interesting as shooting the weapons! I see there are chairs and benchrests. That would be great for me as I haven't mastered that "standing up" shooting yet!!!!!! Although Buckshot did give instructions on another thread!!!BCB

Almost as good as being there. Just wish ya could smell virtual smoke. What's that white stuff? Love the sawhorse [Smile]
Had to play with some new software.. How's this look?:

Still have to read the manual better.. I think captions can be added.

Fellas,

Distance is the reason Oldfeller and I are planning a SECBS for spring of 2004. I live in Charleston SC and its closer to 3000 miles for me and I almost went two years ago.

......Lost Cajun, very excellent man! A superb way to scan through and then expand selected photos. Must be part magician :-)

.......Waksupi, "I see Buckshot holding a power saw backwards. Is this a ploy to get out of work? Or is it a Polish saw?"

Nah, I was in 'Trail Arms', mode.

"Who are those people?"

You can look at the "Rooles Kommittee" pictures for the Winnemucca 2002 and get most of'em.

Is that really an 1842 Mountain Howitzer?? [Wink]

As asked earlier, Solid, Grape, Canister, or maybe just blank??

Any CWSA shooting? Oh well, I guess i'll just have to be there next year and learn the answers. [Big Grin]

BTW, good job LostCajun. I liked your version.

Everyone seems to be kinda shy, so lemme try this.
I won't detail every photo, but this should help identify some of the folks.

USING LostCajun's NUMBERING SYSTEM, we have:

5100050: wheelman firing Deputy Al's 9.3x62, curmudgeon watching;

5110062: Deputy Al and Buckshot, praying for good grub or a crop failure from Saturday night's festivities;

5110063: BruceB addresses the faithful at the closing dinner;

5110064: 45nut (vest)

5110065: KarenB (Mrs BruceB) and TimB

5110066: Mac, idabull's Bro-in-law

5110068: Duke's son, wheelman

Loading and firing the howitzer, with blanks only, BruceB. The gun is a locally-built gem on a Hern Iron Works tube.

5100032: Saturday nite BBQ at "Ragged Ass Ranch", ammohead and sons, mike in CO, Ernie (elblerinnv)

5100040: Buckshot and idabull display remarkably similar profiles;

5100052: team rifle match, KarenB and ammohead;

5110057: school chums curmudgeon and duke fire the team rifle match;

5110060: a fine body of men, duke, Mac, TimB and curmudgeon...did they win something???

Hope this puts a face on the proceedings. Great fun!

Regards from BruceB (aka Bren Mk1)

Hi guys!

My computer went south and I don't have access at home anymore. I got sent to LA for work and the hotel room has free access so thought I would drop in for a spell. The pictures are great! I sure miss talking to you guys. Took me awhile to find you all with shooters down, but I remembered the address for Castpics and saw sundogs notice to try here...so the emergency room worked. Then it took me a while to remember my password for here.

I am going out to grab a bite to eat. I'll check in when I get back.

BruceB, Thanks for the colorization.
Unfortunately, if there's a way to add captions, I can't find it. I even tried changing the file names, but they get shortened. Might have to do some hand-coding on the thumbnails.
