I am interested in the idea of turning the .308 Hornady 100gr SJ into a hollow point and wondered if any of the cast folks know of such a tool for this.

There are several devices out there that are commonly used, usually as an attachment or accessory to a case trimmer.
Basic idea is to use a collet to hold the bullet and then it or the drill is turned and the two aligned axially and pushed together.
Take a look through the various reloading catalogs and you'll find at least one, most likely three different brands of such devices.
