Lino has lots of tin. Tin is less dense than lead. Being lighter is quite reasonable. They will also be harder air cooled.

Cast your bullets out of wheel weight (wheel balansing lead) drop them from the mould on the edge of a sponge floating in a bucket of water the bullet will roll in the water this makes for harder bullets.
I lube mine with alox lube.
We have here XMP5744 powder this is a a good powder for big volume cases and can be used with out filler.
Some people use as much as 50 + gr of this for vel.of 2000 + ft/sec.
I myself get leading of the barrel if I come up to 50 gr.
My load therefore is 45 gr of this power behind a 400 gr gas check.
For higher vel I use slow powers like IMR 7828 / H4831 with a Dracon filler Ex: 100 gr IMR 7828/ 5 gr Dracon 400 gr bullet +- 2100 ft/sec
The same can be used with paper patch bulles ( pure lead) for higher jet vel.
The problem for you is to cross ref. the powders ,the slower one s would be simple but the best big case low vel powder is XMP5744 you can read up on it at

Thanks for the information. I will contact Nobel Sport and Vectan (the French powder labels) to see if they make a powder similar to AA's 5744. As for wheel weights, in France they have zinc in them I am told so useless for bullet casting. No matter, I'll find some good metal somewhere.

WinkI have cast some bullets using the 350 grain mould from RCBS for my .416 Rigby and have a slew of questions, never having experimented with cast bullets before. My scale says the bullets only weigh 330 grains, is this normal? Anybody have any powder and charge recommendations for this bullet/caliber combination? What do you use as a filler, the Rigby case is indeed big. I would like a reduced velocity load (1900 fps?) but would like it to burn clean of course. Any hints on acheiving this?

475/480The weight difference is because of the alloy RCBS uses is different than yours,what alloy are you casting with?
You should post this in Big Bore forum you will get more help.
