Re: Teflon Tape
Some people use standard masking tape to do this also. They report good results. It just may be the answer for those who use 45 ACP bullets in a 4570.

Masking tape! Hadn't thought of that. I'll have to give that a try. Interesting way to paper patch.

wow! tell me more about the masking tape. Does the tape come off at the muzzle and not cause accuracy problems? Was it used on slugs designed to be patched or regular cast bullets? Checks or no? Wrapped as normal? Thanks, Dale

Match the tape width to the bullet bearing surface length. One wrap (or two) with no overlap depending on case and bullet constraints. Doesn't have to have a tapered end. This is just a modified copy of the Chase patch system. You will have to experiment to get the right diameter.

In a current post, the use of teflon tape is mentioned. I have heard of this but never seen or heard personal eperiences with it. Any of you out there know more than hearsay??? The current post makes experiments very tempting, The justification of which is I have little to lose but some elbow grease.
