DWrightCast in the .32 Win spl. ?
Picked up a .32 spl. mod 94. Who shoots cast in this cal? What bullet weight do you cast, powder, etc. Thinkin' maybe it would be a fun cast shooter.

Low WallDW,
RCBS makes a 170gr FN that everyone seems to favor..
I use a 195gr 8mm mold and sized the bullet down to .323" air cooled WW and speed green lube from the BullShop in Alaska..
Cases are formed from once fired 30-30 brass..
WLR primers..
I started out with 32grs. of H414 and worked up to 36grs..
The rifle liked 34grs.=.75"/50m and 35grs.=.60"/50m..
All 3 shot groups would have one out of the group and two touching..
No chrony
I ran out of day light before I got to the 37gr. load..
Only one range trip since I have had the rifle so far..
The H414 data came from John Kort who uses it in his 30-30 shooting Lymans 311284 220gr bullets at 1000yds..

SmokinJI use the Lee 175 grain round nose for the 8mm in my 32 sized to .323 with a variety of powders from fast to slow. My hunting load is with a healthy dose of 4895 of any brand.
I bought me a new RCBS 170 grain flat nose mold and was very upset that it barely drops a .321 bullet with 50/50 alloy. I do like to see bullets at least a .001 to .002 inch over groove size. RCBS may be taking the road to undersized molds as has Lyman.

The 32WinSpl was specifically designed after the fact of the 30WCF (30-30win) because the 30-30 didn't do well with with cast bullets. though atleast partially because at the time (c.1896) there were few smokless propellants available to reloaders.
But the 32WinSpl was originally designed as a cast bullet shooter, so...
