I was seduced by Carmen Axtell at the Quigley this year, bought a Model of 1877; the JP Lower Sporter.
45-70 right now, am thinking about rechambering to 45-100 since I have a Shiloh LRE 45-70.

Do you guys patch to bore or groove diameter?

Groove diameter for smokless. I lube the patched bullets after they are dry.

Thanks for the compliments but i too am always wanting to learn more. I've been following the PP threads on Cast Boolits also. I've never tried rolling the paper with cigerette rolers before. Rolling the PPs on smaller bullets was always a pain to me. I've recently picked up the most recommended rollers and am going to try them one of these days. I'm looking at casting some 323471HPs out of WW+2% tin, sizing to .314 (springs back to .315-.316") and then PPing back to .325 for use in my M98 24/47 8x57. With its long throat that bullet should fit nicely when PP'd. I'm whating to get 2300+ fps with it for hunting. That's my goal anyways.

Indeed he is!

I am planning to paper patch jacketed bullets to try to get them to fit my rifle's throat better (it's a 303 Brit). I also intend trying the same with .308 bullets in my two groove No.4.
