Re: .45 long colt in rifle
I don't shoot 44 from a rifle but I have not see any difference in brass life using 45 Colt in rifle and (mostly) revolver vs. just loading for the 44 mag. in revolver. As for accuracy...same. I say the advantage goes to the 45 Colt for it can shoot to the same velocity as the 44 mag and it can shoot heavier bullets...this being accomplished at lower pressures to boot.

I shoot .44 mag in a rifle, a H&R and I have had a few case mouth cracks after 15 or 16 reloads, I annealed the cases and have another 4 reloads on the same group with no problems.

Try a winchester 94 with a 20 inch barrel. excellent velociyt with +p loads. I load a 250 gr hornady xtp for hunting or defense. shoots well out to 100 yds.
