alox as used in old 50/50 lube nolonger made
Just passing along some info . I just got off the phone with GAR and they told
me that the old type alox used in the NRA formula 50/50 bullet lube is no
longer made. And a new type is being produces but is pretty much untested
The new stuff is alox 350.

Anyone tried this new stuff?

Hello,
I sent you a PM on this subject.
"use 95% Alox #350 to 5% C700 wax"
I got this off of another forum and no one has tried it because the man with the recipe was still trying to get to other interested parties to help buy a 42 lb bucket.

Is GAR using Alox 350 in their lube?
My guess is that the 5% C700 wax would not have a significant effect on the lube. I doubt that the original 50/50 mix was that well optimized. One could just make it 45/55 Alox 350 and beeswax and not know the difference.
