Frank NowakowskiLyman/Saeco/RCBS moulds??
I need to acquire a pair of new moulds and need some input. I'd like a set of four cavity #358429 and #429421 TRUE Keith style moulds. Between Saeco, Lyman and RCBS which should I choose?

felixIt's going to be tough to find genuine Keith 4 banger molds which are "new" from the vendors mentioned. However, you can find exactly what Keith intended from the current maker of H&G molds. I forgot the current brand, but their molds are of the highest quality, and require some wait time and some bucks. Someone else on the board can supply addy info. Genuine Keith boolits have real wide driving bands and square grease grooves. However, in practice, the molds will work better with slightly rounded or slightly angled corners at the bottom of the grease grooves. Probably the current H&G molds are cut this way, and if so, would be to your casting comfort advantage. In addition, the genuine Keith design calls for a modified "V" cut for a crimp groove, and not a lazy-backed "L" which is typical today. ... felix

hammerheadA couple of days ago there was a four cavity H&G number 503 on e-bay. I don't have the number of the auction but it looked like a good mould. I haven't bought any moulds from Ballisticast but if I wanted a true Keith mould that is the brand I would go with. I have several old H&G moulds and they are fantastic more like works of art than anything. Hammerhead

Frank NowakowskiHammerhead,
Thanks for the heads up but unfortunately I only ck these pages every few days. Probably missed it. Ordered a new Lyman mold as it was easier and cheaper than the customs. See how it works and go from their I guess.
