First Wheelweight Melt
Howdy,

Got my first bucket of wheelweights and fired up the old skillet, camp stove, etc. I skimmed clips and then fluxed a few times. When I dropped the ingots out, they were of a duller color than the ingots cast from what was in the pot when I received it. Is this a result of a dirty mix?

It shouldn't be dirty lead, since you fluxed it. I sometimes get color variations, just from the temperature of the melt. Also, pure lead tends to be duller in color in my experience.
Don't worry about the color. You're doing ok.

No, WW metal will have a frosted appearance compared to a soft lead/tin mix. Just start casting some good cheap bullets and enjoy.
