Can't I start on something less harmless like an ashtray or somethin'..



I did turn down a thrust hub washer for my Mercruiser this summer..



Question... I f I chuck this mold (no pun intended, hee, hee), how do I confirm it's turning on center? If I knew I could get it dead nuts center, then I would go for it. I think the sandpaper would be best, but uf ut's not tuning true, or my lathe isn't turning true, I would have an oplonged hole or lobsided shank wouldn't I..



You must be a darn good machinest if you can chuck a square block and have the whole turn round on center... that musta been a job..
