arkypeteColorado casters
I'm contemplating retiring, selling out and moving to the Divide, Florissant area in the next couple of years.
I'm an avide bullet caster. Currently I'm sitting on a couple thousand pounds of lead, wheel weights, linotype, accumulated through creative scrounging. I dread the cost of shipping all that west, unless lead is scarce in Colorado.
How's the lead supply out there?
I ask because Colorado has attracted a bunch of tree huggers from California and the East Coast over the past twenty years, plus Colorado sent that dingbat Patricia Schroeder to Washington!
Can I get wheel weights, lead, etc. out there?

Really though I have no trouble buying scrap wheelweights in the Denver area... at Discount Tire of all places. Most of the tire shops will set aside some ww for you in my experience. In Florissant and the surrounding area I'll bet you can find an idependent tire shop you can work a deal out with. And not being that far from CO Springs there has to be somewhere to find scrap lead.
The tree huggers stay in the Denver/ Boulder for the most part. Although I'm sure that there are a few feral granola's running around outside of their safe areas.

LeftoverdjArky, if and when you move, we can probably work a deal unless you have other casters even nearer you who want your stash.

I've got several buddies that will take some of the lead but you will be most welcome to take some also. I didn't pay anything for this stash so you can pay the same price, nothing.
