My normal hunting days...
Hi,

First I check my trail cam. I set one in a feeder that also has a small bucket filled with milo. The bucket has small holes so when the pigs move the bucket the milo falls down.

I put this bucket with the idea of moving the pigs a little away from the tree where the feeder is to have a clear shot and to have better moon light for night hunting.

I went to see if this guy shows up..

So we just hide between some rocks in a small hill near the feeder.

The view of the hill from the feeder. We sat down just under the small opening you see between the trees on the top of the hill..

The view of the feeder from the hill...

A close view...

The blue bucket full of milo and sour corn around it...

Yesterday evening the ambush was ready and it was my hunting buddy turn to shoot...

As you see, I worked on every single detail since the day I set the feeder, the place for the blind, the winds, the moonlight on the feeder as soon as arise, everything...

The only problem was that the pig never received the comunication that he MUST be there yesterday night.....so he never show up !!!

We sat there between 6pm till 5 am of the next day Big Grin

He has been hitting the place for seven consecutive nights Roll Eyes

So as I said on the title, my normal hunting days, are those that I returned home empty handed Confused

Lorenzo--if we shot one each time we sat on stand, it wouldn't be hunting, it would just be shooting!!

So--you had another great night enjoying the outdoors. You've read my posts about "A Good Night-Part ??" and you know I enjoy every night.

Remember-a bad night on the stand beats a good night almost everywhere else!!

You'll get him next time--and maybe I'll get one my next time-but I'm not quitting!!!!

Well said, dustoffer. We wouldn't appreciate it as much if every night resulted in bacon. Looking forward to seeing that boar dead, Lorenzo! Good luck to you!

Lorenzo,

I can't muster much sympathy for you! You put together a great setup and you have animals coming in. Oh yeah, and you've also posted some great kills. Love the photos it won't be long before you put that little guy in the freezer.

Ahhh, the frustrations of trying to work out a piggy mind. I once set up a similar setup to get a cunning old boar that had killed one of my dogs and provided me with 1100 dollars worth of vet bills on others, Middle of winter and cold as hell. Sat there all night but fell asleep about 3 am. Next morning I find he'd walked up within 25 paces of me, then turned around and left. Kicked myself over that one.

Lorenzo,
Enjoy your time while looking for your quarry.

That's a great looking setup, Lorenzo. Even without a successful hunt, I wouldn't consider passing the time at that spot wasted. Good luck!
