Where are they?
So, everybody knows in Texas we are knee deep in pigs! I doubt we who shoot them have kill all the dumb ones. So where are they? I have three feeders going at the wife's place and no pictures! Yes we have had rain but?????

There's no evidence of hogs here, either. It's been that way a long while now.

Trapped 5 several weeks ago and had zero traffic for about 10 nights, but they have gradually returned. I’ll be setting the trap at this place next week.

At the Belmont place, it has been a dry hole since we restarted after deer season although we have trapped one. Traffic is picking up there however, and probably will be setting the trap also next week.

Wish the winds would cooperate so I can go sit with the bow (and the temps too)

Anyone hunt pre-light for hogs? Up here anyway, coolest lately is like 4:30-5.

I haven't seen as many at our place either. A few signs but not like before. I think probably the dry ground and harder for them to root. I'm certainly not complaining.

Sat last night just for the idea of it! I guess I did not realize how high the weeds had gotten! It would have been a tall pig for a shot! A little before ten the propane in the Thermocell ran out. It did not take long for the mosquitos to find me. Packed up and went home. Sling blade on the dove weed today. Suckers are tough, some pulled up by the roots rather than cut.

Our place needs mowing as well! The guy that leases the land is going to brush hog soon. He leases grazing rights for hay and a few head of cattle. He does not hunt!

Sat night before last. Bad, a sounder of small light colored pigs came in before the feeder went off. I have never seen them before! With no corn on the ground they were helter-skelter looking! Many times before when the feeder does go off they run and do not come back. The bigger one was behind a post or feeder leg or in the dark. Finally two looked like they might cross! Tried to get greedy and missed! Looked at pictures today and they are back with some bigger black ones! I won't sit tonight but maybe tomorrow!
Bright side though! Miss made me low on 416 Ruger loads. Got some RE15 and knew I had some new brass some where. Found it in a cardboard box at the top of a closet shelf where I do not normally put that stuff. Surprise! A half box of new 375 Ruger brass I had forgot about!
