Hellow fellow hog hunters ,Uruguay has a very good population of boars ,specially near the town of Aigua .Some photos .

Is it the custom to let the dogs maul the boar to death, or does the handler call the dogs off so the hunter can shoot the hog?

Only when they cacht a small hog they can kill it .Most of the hunters choose to stab with a good knife ,or if desiderd shoot with a pistol after we took off the dogs.

From the looks of these pictures it looks like you don't feed those dogs and they have to catch their own eats.

Jeje these arent my dogs .This dogs are dogos grey hounds crosses from the gauchos ,i use Dogos with a pointer as a point dogs .But i dont travel to another country with my dogs ,.Too much problem .
