Yep--one lately, but I would imagine several have crashed. The type flying they are doing is the most hazardous short of a combat environment. Low and slow is a lethal combo if anything goes wrong--power, controls, wire/tree strike, etc. As the old aviation saying goes--the things that save you are the altitude beneath you, the airspeed you are carrying, and lots of luck. And, the only time you have too much fuel is when you are on fire.

However, I still think that would be a hooot!!

A Government hunter friend of mine in central TX, did crash a heli a few years ago but he survived. Didn't fly for a while though. Last I heard he was back at it, killing hogs and coyotes.


The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.
