There I Was---
Sitting all alone in the stand with the bow, looking at this feeder:

And really I wasn't alone---plenty of 'skeeters to keep me company. I brought both Thermacells and was thankful I did as they kept 99% of them away.

However I had no other 4-legged company even though the game cams and dirt under the feeders showed plenty of traffic. Stuck it out until 11 and called it a night. Spotted one large one across the fence but didn't feel like walking to the truck, getting the rifle and walking back for the shot. And, it was way too wet to be able to get the truck to it and drag it away, so it will be there another night.

Going to my other spot later this week--report to follow.

Quality time with the skeeters... I've been there a lot!

Better luck next round.

I've heard those Thermacells work pretty well.

Hell of a deal, give you ten days of peace
and you still don't kill any hogs!

hey guys, finally got this pos computer and dead modem working again. Now I'll start pestering again.

Feed those skeeters, don't be so selfish with that blood!

Back in the stand last night--hot and humid. Got impatient and got down about 30 minutes earlier than my original plan. When I got out in front of the feeder pen I scanned with the thermal and there was a medium hog about 15 feet from the feeder. Had I stayed in the stand would likely have gotten a shot archer . Mad

Just got back from a bear hunt in Alaska. The thermacells really helped with the mosquitoes, but I was told they do not work above about 4,000 feet elevation. Anyone know if that is true? There is very little country here in Utah that is below 4,000 feet.

You guys from Texas may have gotten your way. It has begun raining here and looks to be almost an everyday weather thing. That's if the weather guessers have it right. Who knows. Keep on making good feral pigs. Giving them the dirt temp. challenge is great. Wish I could help. Be Well, Packy
