My brother called me a dickhead last night, and he's right. You see a mob of pigs has been comming out where we shoot on sight, and Mike told me to take my bow and see if I could get some while he filmed it with our new camera. I had the camera at my place, so grabbed it, and we made our way to the back of the farm, accompanied by Bob and his silenced 223.Three sows were soon spotted high on a scrub covered hill, and we stalked around back of them and broke out of the bush about 50 meters from their position. Mike and Bob stopped behind a tree 25 meters away, while I stalked in. One sow had a litter, so ignoreing her, I crept up within 6 meters of a fat 65lber, and put an arrow through her from a quartering away angle. It only stopped when it hit her jaw. She jumped and let out a massive squeal before disappearing from sight. Quickly I nocked another arrow, and as I could hear pigs all around me, moved to look over the side of the ridge. Suddenly a back appeared, and as the rest of the pig came over the ridge, I let an arrow go at 4 meters. The pig spun and dived off the ridge, then came straight back and stopped right next to me, I mean I could of kicked it had I moved it was so close. I stood stock still, watching it wobble, and seeing the blood pour out of its chest. I thought it would fall right there, but with its last strength it moved of the ridge and rolled down the hill. Standing in the middle of the ridge, I had two dead pigs within 10 meters of me.
Why was I a dickhead? The camera battery was flat.
