Bobby TomekThanks, georgeld!!!
Went to the mailbox earlier and was like a kid at Christmas. Had a package of component bullets for my old Ruger Security Six in .357 Magnum.
George was kind enough to send me a batch of his own cast projectiles and some MFS 158 grain JHPs (MFS is located in Europe and produces bullets for Norma).
I hope to load and send some downrange soon but won't be doing that just yet. Had to take my migraine med (Zolmitriptan) this morning, and when I do, I won't drive, handle guns, reload, etc. as it leaves me a little groggy for several hours. But at least it does relieve the migraine.
Anyway, I'll work up a load or two before long -- and hopefully before the full effect of the Texas heat makes things beyond miserable LOL.
Thanks again, George!

georgeldBobby:
Glad to share with you as I know you will put them to good use.
Don't know anything about where the jhp's were produced.
I bought 1500 from A/R's classifieds when Raven Rocks first offered them for sale. I didn't have any hp, or jacketed slugs at the time. Only half a bucket of those cast I make. I have cast more than 15 gallons of those slugs over the past 25 years. They shoot well for my needs of .38 plinker ammo. They have polished a couple bores out real nice. I load and shoot them by the thousands with 3.5 or 4 gr Red Dot. using only recycled range pellets Lee said they test at 9 bpts hardness. As cast they turnout at 147gr from the Lee 6 cavity mold designated as 158gr SWC.
Hope you can kill a few pigs with both of these and show us how they perform.
George

Bill/OregonVery generous gesture George! I am sure Bobby will put them to very good use, as you say.
