Daughter's 2nd Hunt

Well its been awhile since my Daughter's first hunt but with Hula Lessons taking up all her weekends it came as a surprise to me when she asked if she could go hunting. I asked her about her hula classes and she said that they had a break so she wanted to go hunting and I was all for it.

We started walking in at dark so we could be at the spot we wanted to hunt at daybreak. She and I walked down into the valley while the others stayed on top of the ridge with the dogs. When she and I got down into the valley I called them to let them know we were in place.

They turned the dogs loose and started down toward us. One of our young dogs hit a hog but couldnt stop it so that one got away. My daughter was all pumped just to hear the dog jump the hog. I was a little bummed as I thought our chances of hitting again was quite slim since the dog barking more than likely scared anything close to us away.

Imagine my surprise when our main dog jumped this boar right in front of my daughter and I in the thick brush and it came crashing right to us. My main catchdog was with us and he intercepted the pig. It was very exciting for my daughter but especially for me to share this great moment with her.
